By default and with the most common Microsoft 365 licenses, Microsoft Teams meetings only allow attendees to connect via web or from the Teams application.
Until March 31, 2021, you have the option to activate one year of free dial-in Audio Conferencing for Microsoft Teams, so attendees can join Teams meetings from wherever they are, using a global dial-in number.
Let’s see how to activate this promotion.
1. Activate the Subscription
From Microsoft 365 administration portal, go to Billing > Purchase services > Add-ons and select Microsoft 365 Audio Conferencing Adoption Promo.
2. Assign the Licenses
Once the subscription is activated, the new license must be assigned to people who plan to schedule or lead meetings. Meeting attendees who dial in don’t need any licenses assigned to them.
3. That’s it!
Each user with an audio license will receive an email with the telephone number to which those attending meetings can call.
From now on, when a user creates a new Teams meeting, the dial-in number will automatically appear in the invitation, with the option to view alternative numbers for international calls.
You can personalize the information that appears in your Microsoft Teams invitations by going to the Teams Administration Center, under Meetings > Meeting Settings > Email invitation
Free at the Moment
Let’s hope that Microsoft extends that offer, since that function is very useful, especially for people who are on the road and don’t have a good Internet connection.
We invite you to contact us to learn more about audio conferencing and how to successfully implement it.
