At IXIT we carry out migration from obsolete systems to many consolidated and modern IT systems, on premise or in the cloud like Office 365 and Microsoft Azure
We perform migration from and toward many different IT platforms, among them:
Independently of the source and destination systems, the migration process follows the same steps to guarantee a successful development of the migration:
Analysis of the current structure in the source system
User rights analysis
Definition of the new structure in the destination system
Creation of the destination environment, applying specific permissions
Migration of data, documents and forms
Index of the migrated content so the search will include the newly migrated data (only for migration to SharePoint systems)
A migration project is also a good opportunity to “clean” an old system. Before starting with the migration process, it can be a good idea to analyze the obsolete components, like unused fields that won’t be migrated; the data location can be reviewed to detect possible duplicates; it is also possible to review the existing workflow to check if they are still aligned with the business requirements.
So, when required by the client, the migration result is converted into a new optimized system, with the same advantages of the old Lotus Notes database and with an new design.
IBM Notes (formerly Lotus Notes) is a complete management tool, used in many companies across the globe. Nowadays, for many reasons, mostly financials and also to have a better user experience, many organizations are moving to SharePoint as an alternative option.
To minimize impact on user acceptance to the new system based on SharePoint, the migration result respects the existing rules lying under the Notes forms and the location of elements on screen.
The display of forms and documents looks like the previous one in Lotus, with an enhanced design.
